Hello Everyone!! I had so much fun working with this month's sponsored challenge, a mini-album kit from The Bookers Club. The kit had all the materials I needed to create a fun and festive project to showcase my family's recent holiday photos. The miniature patterned papers by Jenni Bowlin are so cute, a little vintage chic which is totally up my alley. I love them!
The kit also includes a Maya Road chipboard mini-album which I painted with red acrylic paint. Before painting, I first primed the album with gesso which adds a bit more texture on the surface. The gesso makes the chipboard a little stiffer and helps the paint stick better. Gesso is applied like paint. Once the gesso dried, I sanded the album a bit and then painted with red acrylic paint. Then, after the paint has dried, I brushed clear acrylic matte gel all over to seal the album. Mod Podge works great as a sealer too.
Supplies Used: "Home For the Holidays" mini-album kit sponsored by The Bookers Club; Making Memories red acrylic paint; DeSerres white gesso; Kroma acrylic matte gel; Prima blue flowers: 7Gypsies rub-ons; Making Memories stickpin; Technique Tuesday stamps; Old Island Company stamps

It's gorgeous, Anna! Love the gesso tip too:)

Anna, you do such a wonderful job with that vintage chic style. I've never worked with gesso, just might have to try it.
